so stresstful...home buying..
this whole process is all stressful and filled with up days and down days...we got a house...not one that i dreamed of, but its a good house...(knock on wood) then we were waiting to lock in the rates at 3.125 and waited to see if goes down....and its just went up 1/8 to 3.375 so we just locked it in, but if it goes down, i know i'll be kicking myself...i dont know how you girls deal and not go crazy...

so stresstful...home buying..
Buying a home has been the most stressful thing I have ever dealt with. I haven't slept good in months! But we are finally closing Thursday on our first home..I hope it will be worth the stress lol

Hang in there! In the end, it will all be worth it.
As for staying relatively stress free, first, drink a TON of wine every night!
But I think it's also important to try to get as much information as you can about each step of the process so you are not wondering what's going on and making the wrong assumptions. Lack of info leads to stress! Assuming you have a good team assembled that you trust -- e.g., good realtor, good attorney, good mortgage lender -- rely on them and their expertise to get you through!
Also, while it's important to do your research and arm yourself with info, you also need to know when to just make a decision and move forward. There will always be other homes on the market to see, rates will always fluctuate (they are like stock prices!), etc., etc. So sometimes you just make the best decision you can at the time with the info you have at hand, and then let it go! If you always wonder if you could have done better, gotten better, you will become paralyzed when you need to make a decision and will drive yourself nuts.
And btw - low 3s is an awesome rate, no matter how you slice it. When I bought my house in late 2008, low 6s were the "best" rates, and people said that was crazy low. Who knew where we'd be a few years later?
Good luck - hope it's a smooth and stress-free process the rest of the way!

Right there with ya. We are in the process of selling our house and trying to find a new one, all while being 6 months pregnant AND having toddler twins. Deals have come and then fallen thru and time is a ticking. And its not like this time of year there are a ton of homes to even choose from

The way I handle not stressing over changes is the rates is to just stop looking. You locked it in- It is done. Put a positive spin on it- you got a great rate and now you can move onto the next thing on your to do list.
