No Scan since 12 weeks...
So we opted out of the 16 week scan and testing and will have our 20 week scan in 3 weeks. I am terrified that something is wrong and I feel like I wish I hadn't opted out of the 16 week sono. I have a regular appointment a week from today so we will hear the heartbeat and all, but I am so afraid that something happened between 12-13 weeks and now. Please tell me I am not nuts and everything is ok.

Hey Lauren ... Is there a reason you opted out of the 16 week scan ... did you do your ultrascreen ? I think your fine every mother is always worried about the unknown and its normal to feel this way.. everything will be fine and you will be so relieved when you walk out of the office after your appointment! are you finding out what your having at this appt? or are you team green? Good luck!

Re: No Scan since 12 weeks...
Thanks! We had the ultra screen and all was perfect. The outcome if the testing wouldn't change anything so we decided we didn't want to do it. Thanks for your advice! Hope you are feeling well!!

Re: No Scan since 12 weeks...
the wait in between ultrasounds is the worst! we had a 12 week and i dont think i was offered a 16 week...so we then had a 20 week and now i have a 32 week one coming up. even at this point i am nervous. i think its natural for all of us to be concerned, but just try to think positively
good luck!

Re: No Scan since 12 weeks...
My last sono was at 12 weeks and I'm in my 20th week now. It's torture! I have my anatomy scan on Monday and cant wait! The only thing thats been keeping me from worrying so much right now is that I've been feeling some movement the past week.

I've only had 3 scans through my pregnancy - 9 weeks, 12 weeks and 20 weeks.
don't worry - everything will be fine!

No Scan since 12 weeks...
I had an 6 week and one at 8 and then not another until 18 when I had an amnio. I opted out of the NT scan since the results are not really results just a x chance in 100. THe wait was horrible but you have to keep tellign yourself you are doing all the right things and the rest is out of your hands.
It is very nromal to be nervous. That will never go away...even after you have the baby!

Re: No Scan since 12 weeks...
I know the feeling the wait inbetween sono's are torture! I had one at 12 weeks and that was the NT scan and then didnt have one until 20 weeks.. which I was a nervous wreck about.. now I have to wait until 32 weeks.. its such a long stretch and am always nervous each time. I think its completely natural but always hope for the best and think positive.. thats what I try doing:)

No Scan since 12 weeks...
We did not have a 16 week scan...only our 20 week sono. We did do a gender determination scan around week 17 for early determination but that was for fun and not to see if anything was wrong. It's normal to be nervous but I am sure all is fine!

Re: No Scan since 12 weeks...
I had a 12w sono and then my next was at 20w. That's actually very normal! Many insurance companies only cover sonos at 8, 12 and 20 weeks.

Re: No Scan since 12 weeks...
I had one at 8 weeks, then a mini one at 12 weeks, (couldn't see much just needed to see the baby) I did not have the NT scan done, so now the doctor says the next scan is at 20 weeks....I have my 16 week appt tomorrow so we will see, but they already said no sono.

same for me too-I wasn't even offered a 16 week u/s. I just had my normal OB appointment at 16 weeks. Hearing the HB helped get me through those weeks. Up until I started feel constant movement (35.3weeks now) I was always SO nervous before my appointments that they wouldn't find a HB or something would be wrong!

Same here! And the movement I feel is still so light, I am not even 100% sure it is the baby! It is totally normal to worry - I am counting down the days until Monday!
