When to start washing clothes?

I don't know why I am feeling so superstitious this time around about taking any tags off of things and getting things ready.

I am 33+ weeks - My c-section is in 6 weeks. I haven't touched one baby thing yet! When is acceptable to start getting ready? I don't wanna do it too early. Does that even make sense?

When to start washing clothes?

I am 32 weeks and I started putting stuff away from my shower. I haven't washed anything yet only because I am still trying to figure out if I need to return or exchange any clothes that I may have. Once that is done I will be washing. I am neurotic and would rather things done early over late.

Re: When to start washing clothes?

I started washing at 36 weeks, after both showers and still have a lot more to do. I didn't want things sitting around too long collecting dust, cat hair, etc. so I didn't start earlier.

We will probably do one more load this weekend and be pretty much ready. I'm not washing 100% of clothes, etc until I see what we already need.

I'm 37 weeks now.

im with you M - ive taken things off hangers and started sorting but have not taken tags off or washed anything yet.

I have sorted newborn and size 0-3 and I will wash all newborn and some 0-3 within the next 2 weeks. That's probably all I will do before she is born. I havent even thought about bigger sizes.

Re: When to start washing clothes?

I'll be 36 weeks this weekend and haven't washed anything yet. I planned on getting some Dreft or baby safe detergent and starting to wash on Sunday or next weekend (36 weeks). I didn't want to do it too soon since the nursery isn't finished and the dresser isn't put together. So I didn't want the clothes to sit and get dusty and have to wash them again.

When to start washing clothes?

I am 30 weeks and just had my shower and got a TON of NB stuff. I think I am going to wait to wash most of the NB stuff until after we get home. I don't want to rip the tags off and then not be able to use any of it if he's a bigger baby. I'll wash the bigger stuff and then once he's born I'll have my mom go to my house and just run a load of NB stuff if necessary or just do it in all of my free time when we first get home Chat Icon
