Vacation with a 2yr old
Here is my situation. I am a single mom whose ExH probably won't allow me to get DC a passport so until my divorce paperwork goes through I can't take him away internationally (I will have sole custody so one it goes through I am all set). I would like to go away somewhere warm and nice with DS for about a week this winter/early spring that will cost me no more than $2000. It absolutely has to be somewhere child friendly and easy maintence as I will be travelling with him alone. Any insight would be awesome!

I think your best bet would be Florida. You can go to Key West or the Tampa/Clearwater Area. If you go to Tampa then you can take him to Busch Gardens and Adventure Island (Water Park).
With Tampa, you are within 2 hours of Disney/Universal/Sea World.
