Since 34 weeks my amniotic fluid has been low and up a bit, low again, then up a bit.... I've been seeming doctor twice a week since (I am currently 39 wks 5 days) At my appt yesterday, my fluid was a bit lower than last week. Went from 7.2 to 6.7.... so my Dr discussed my options with my all my stats (age, weight gain for pregnancy, weeks preg etc) and advised me that if I happen to begin labor on my own, I would have a 40% chance of a c, if I was induced a 60% chance. I told him I do not want to be induced to end up w a c because I do not want to do that to my body or baby. He told me he agreed that if I wasn't progressing on my own, which of right now, I am not dilated, effaced and baby hasn't dropped, then he would not want to induce. I go back tomorrow for another appt for a nst and sono, if fluid is lower automatic c and if it's hovering or increases we discuss my options... I am quite scared of having a c and was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on it. Or any words of wisdom if they've been in my place...
