transitioning to crib
I've been thinking about trying to transition to the crib or at least nursery. DD is 8 weeks. She usually gives us 5 hours and recently we've been getting 6 hours inbetween feedings.
Part of me isn't ready and just wants her in our room.
Part of me thinks it may be for the best. I think DH would certainly sleep better and it may be easier to transition now than when I'm back to work... I work 3 nights a week.

transitioning to crib
When I transitioned, dd was 3 months and I was almost in tears lol. It was nice having her in our room but we needed our life back. It was the best decision to start as early as possible. Dd has been sleeping it her room every night since... I can't believe over 3 months have gone by with her being a big girl in her own room... They grow up so fast

transitioning to crib
We moved DD around 8 weeks and it was an easy transition for her. I lied awake the first few nights feeling so weird that she wasn't there! Eventually I got used to it and DH and I slept better without all of her noise and she loved all the space in her crib.

Re: transitioning to crib
We just moved DS to his crib & own room at 2 months (after we had been visiting family and he was in the pack n play for a few days for Thanksgiving). Figured it was a good time to transition.
A few days later he started sleeping 9 / 10 hours at night!!! Not sure they were related, but everyone sleeps better now.

Hmmm... that's something to think about! Also I think it may be more comfortable if she needs to eat at night. The glider doesn't fit in our room and whoever is feeding sits up in bed. We'd have the changing table, glider and only one of us will have to actually get up.

Re: transitioning to crib
I transitioned DD around 8 weeks. She was such a noisy sleeper that I never got any real rest! She transitioned easily, but I had been giving her naps in her crib the whole time (now she hates napping in her crib, but that's a different story).

transitioning to crib
DD has been in her room for about 2-3 weeks but in the RnP. She doesn't seem ready for the crib yet.

Re: transitioning to crib
we put dear son in his room in the bassinet at 4 weeks, and then started the crib at 6 weeks. First I would put him in the crib after he woke up for his early bottle. At 8 weeks we put in the crib but turned so he was sleeping the short way so he would still feel closed in.

Re: transitioning to crib
i started at 8 weeks for two reasons. the first was to shut dh up. he kept asking when was she going to start using the room we spent so much on the second reason was i knew i was going back to work at the end of week 12 and i wanted to give myself enough time to get into a routine without the stress of work.
she's been doing great since she started. it was me who had the problem. i couldn't sleep because i was constantly looking at the monitor or going into her room to make sure she was breathing. now. at 18weeks i sleep fine and only wake up when shes up.
