measuring big at 29 weeks
...based on fundal height measurement, my doctor told me today that I was measuring big. I have to go for an ultrasound to check the baby's growth and amniotic fluid. i know the baby's measuring on target bc i had a trip to the ER for a fall last week and they did an ultrasound then. Against my better judgment, i started browsing the web and found that high amniotic fluid could be a sign of a number of horrible things....
anyone else have a similar experience?

Do you have fibroids by any chance? I have one monster fibroid (13x12x10cm) and I'm usually measuring anywhere from 5-7 weeks ahead based on the fundal height because of it... this is one of the reasons I go for bi-weekly growth sonos.

Re: measuring big at 29 weeks
i had very high fluid with my son and it was completely idiopathic just like the vast majority of cases. there was no reason for it, just happened. Seems it happens frequently! Better too much than too little

I had pockets of extra amniotic fluid my 2nd pregnancy. It was nothing. I was told that boys pee a lot which may cause the excess fluid I had a DS

I was measuring big around that time, they did the ultrasound, found baby to be in normal range and fluids to be in normal rage also. I just wound up with a bigger baby. My fluids ranged from 20 to 9 and back up to 15 all within a 2 weeks span. All within range and all from the baby swallowing and peeing.

It's likely your fibroid. I have fibroids, too, and the dr usually never measures my fundal height. Instead I get monthly growth sonos. But last visit at 28w, my dr measured me and said I was measuring ahead b/c of the fibroids. An ultrasound is much more accurate if you have any fibroids. Don't worry!!!
