Trying to get Jacob to eat some table foods... and just wondering do you mix anything in the pastina like formula?? I remember when i was young my mom would put milk in it and/or butter, but of course i'm not gonna do that for an 8 month old. TIA!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

I cook it in water and put 1 chicken boullion cube in it to give it some flavor. I put a tiny bit of butter to keep them moist. She loves it!

Jacob is 8 months old, right? It should be OK to mix it with spagetti sauce. A lot of the baby foods that have meat in them have tomato products in them as well.

Also when I make it I usually sprinkle some parmasean cheese on it but I don't know if he tolerates dairy or not at this point.

I mixed it with the baby food carrots once.

Here is a question- do you guys feed it to them with a spoon, or do you let them pick it up?

I fed it with a spoon, pasta is slippery especially for little fingers, that being said he would eventually get a hold of it and start shoveling it in with his hands.

I put either butter or I mix cheese and a little milk, microwave it and it's a cheese sauce. The other night I mixed pastine with peas and cheese sauce and he loved it!

At 6 months my dr said I could mix it with a little margarine (she said instead of butter). Sometimes I mixed it into baby food - like teh squash or sweet potatoes - he liked it better that way.

As he got older - butter and perm cheese.
