Mold Inspector

Anyone have a recommendation for a mold inspector and approximately how much it will cost? I know it probably goes by square footage and this is for the bottom level of a high ranch, so maybe 1500 sq ft or so.

Thanks.

Re: Mold Inspector

We recently used Charlie Ferguson (631-682-8391). Can't say enough good things about him. He was so nice, is fully certified (and provides a copy of his certificate in case you need to submit it to insurance). Really reasonably priced, and he even dropped his fee when he saw the area was smaller than he was expecting. He quoted me $275 over the phone and then when he got here and looked around said $250.

He has since done several of my neighbor's homes and they were all really happy with him too.

Is he affiliated with a company or certified in a specific industry/speciality? We are in the same boat - we need to get a mold inspector this week to make sure we are ok - a FEMA adjuster came by and told us we need to rip out the entire base floor of our first floor which is something DH feels is completely unnecessary but we need to prove that we do not have mold.

thanks!

He's an independent guy, the name of the anti-microbial treatment is called shockwave, which from what I found online is the industry standard. He's certified in mold remediation from the Professional Mold Inspection Institute. He's very thorough, goes through the entire impacted area and will let you know what needs to go and what can be saved.
