Switching doctors... (a little long)
Ive been going to my GYN since I was 19. However, when I became pregnant in 2010 with my DS my GYN had stopped delivering babies and reffered me to someone else in his practice. I loved OB he reffered me to and felt really comfortable with her.
Fast forward to 2012, I went back to the practice expecting to be with the same OB only to find out she left the practice. I have visited with the new OB 3 times but I really do not like him. He seem nervous and does weird things that makes me uncomfortable - like crossing his fingers before my sono yesterday saying he hopes there is a heartbeat - why wouldnt there be a heartbeat? Or trying to get me to agree to not having a doc visit for 8 weeks bc its more convenient for him.
So after I left the doc last night (my LO is doing well ) I texted my former OB and I am beginning the process of switching OBs to be with her again.
I feel slightly guilty bc Ive been going to the head doc at that practice since I was 19, but I do not feel comfortable with that OB. Would you call the practice to explain or just let the doc'soffice handle everything?

I would just let the office handle it...esp because you are switching to a doctor you previously used - its not your fault she left the practice

This one of the biggest problems as women.
We would rather feel bad and maybe not do whats right for US so we dont hurt someones feelings.
How did you feel when the doc said "can you just wait 8 weeks because its not really convient for ME".
Switch docs. Don't look back, AND feel GREAT that you are doing it.
Put your well being AHEAD of the doctors feelings.
ETA: You dont have to TELL the doc, just have your file transfered and dont go back.

Do you what you have to do and do not feel bad about it at all. I changed OBs after having DD and they actually called me and asked why I was leaving the practice. I didn't want to go into it with them and just said I felt more comfortable with my new dr. You don't owe anyone anything, and do not feel bad at all for making the choice that is best for you and your baby.

Switch and don't look back. The office will find out when they get a call to transfer your files.

ITA. Only you will probably have to fill out paperwork and fax it to the office to have a copy of your records sent to your new dr.
You have absolutely no reason to feel guilty changing drs. It's your perogative. Drs are used to patients changing and don't take it personally.

I switched bc they made me uncomfortable and at first I felt guilty but everything they did or didn't do started piling up in my head, and when they had the gall to call me to ask why I left I told them...I'm happy with the new doctor and don't regret it at all!

Just let the office handle it all. I was with my OB for a few years...and realized he really wasn't for me once I went for a prental visit. I felt rushed and like he was already pushing a C-section. So I changed OB's and love my new one and so glad I did. It was a few months before the old OB's office called to follow up to see where I went.
