Shower on saturday...registry question

So my surprise shower on Saturday isn't much of a surprise...but I am getting nervous that people aren't buying off of the registry. As of now there are only like 12 things purchased with two days to go. I know people wait to the last minute...but getting nervous. We will be thankful for what we get of course....but since this is our first we have nothing...with not many essential things bought. I think sometimes when you are having a Chat Icon people get so caught up in cute clothes and forget about the things you need for everyday.

Did you ladies notice things being purchased super last minute like this? Maybe it's just my special family and friends lol.

Shower on saturday...registry question

I find that people either buy stuff off of a registry the second they get the invitation or the week or so before. I wouldn't worry. I still have a bunch of stuff left on my registry (shower is next weekend) but things are still coming off and whatever we do get is a huge help and much appreciated but whatever is left we are preparred to just buy ourselves with the completion discount.

I would take a look at your registry and maybe remove anything on there that is more of the "nice to have" stuff and leave the "must haves." That way anyone who goes shopping tonight, tomorrow and Saturday morning will be more likely to get you the stuff you NEED.

That will be super helpful!!! I will FM you my info that it is under. We are prepared to buy the stuff we need with the completion discount as well...but my only question is that if we take anything not really necessary off and want to purchase later then it won't qualify for the discount right?

Shower on saturday...registry question

You can add it back on after the shower! We never put the stroller we wanted on the registry because it's $$$ and I just felt funny about it. So we're going to add it on after the shower and then just buy it when we go in. Chat Icon

Ahhhhh gotcha!!! Yea we actually already bought the stroller because it was really hard to find and I wanted to make sure I got it while I could find it a couple of months back...but my mom said to leave it in case someone wanted to buy it for us then return ours. I don't see it happening really so may just take it off since we already have it

Shower on saturday...registry question

I know i'm guilty of running to bbb or bru the day before a shower or the morning of! So maybe most people will wait until the weekend?

Like pp said, maybe just take of the cute nice stuff so its mainly just essentials?

Shower on saturday...registry question

People might just be doing last minute shopping. It seems that everything recently seemed to creep up on people since Sandy. Also, I found out the hard way with my SIL's shower things don't come off the registry RIGHT away. I bought something and then the next day or so someone bought the same thing because it didn't come right off the registry. Try to wait the 2 more days. If you end up getting stuff you don't want, just return it for the things you do want.

Yea I feel like BRU is notorious for things not actually coming off. I thought about that as well....and that could be a factor for sure!

Re: Shower on saturday...registry question

It could be that some people found the item for less somewhere else, and may have purchased it there for you, figuring you could always return if you have to.

Re: Shower on saturday...registry question

For my shower; some people purchased stuff off the registry but not the exact one so it didnt come off. For example: we had boppy covers on the registry, we recieved 2 but they never came off because the style wasnt the exact one we chose. I just went down the registry and took the stuff off myself as we recieved it.
