Show and Tell ideas
What are some things you send in for show and tell. DS is in preschool in the local early learning center. They pretty much do show and tell every Thursday. I seem to be running out of ideas. LOL So far brought in a sting ray he got at a bday party that was in a children's museum. He loves fish! He made a fire truck at Home Depot with his dad so used that for fire prevention week. Pics of him pumpkin picking and carving in October.
Btw.. Since he's 3 I have a sheet to fill out about the show and tell and why it's special. I was going to send in the singing dreidel, but it broke and since he's getting another one from my mil I'll use that the week of Hanukah. Any ideas? What are things you've done with you LO's?

Show and Tell ideas
Show and Tell doesn't have to be elaborate, have him bring in a toy or stuffed animal that he really likes.

Show and Tell ideas
Last year DS had to bring in something related to what they learned that week. Does he do a letter a week or something you can try to draw ideas from? Ask the teacher what other kids bring in. Maybe an art project at home or a picture of a family member/trip?

Thing were off after Sandy since they were out so long so they just started to pvik it up again. Sometimes it's about what they're learning, but this one is kid choice. I guess a fav toy or something will be fine. No letters that I know about, but we never got the November calendar bc of the hurricane. I'll see next month.

At the preschool my kids went to, they focused on a diff color every week, so you had to bring in something that was the color they were discussing. It was never anything "unique", just a stuffed animal, a toy, etc. Once in a great while they had a theme, like for fire safety week if you had any toy fire trucks or firefighters you were supposed to bring it, etc.

This is what DS has to do as well. He's almost 3 but, just moved this month to the 3 yr old class and they just resumed show and tell for the first time this week (the head teacher resigned).
This week is the letter "H" so I think I am going to send in his little toy helicopter (if I can find it lol!)

Show and Tell ideas
Our show and tell is a letter of the week (which I post here) but the rules are no toys, sticks, rocks or large objects. I can be photos, crafts or objects that invovle the letter.
There was one week that was her choice so we got a lady bug mask on a stick and colored it together. Last year for the Letter A we did a coloring of an Apple and lots of AJ photos. Maybe you can show photos from thanksgiving, preparations for the upcoming holidays? I like the favorite animal thing and would probably go further and say who lives with that animal etc, color the ocean, etc.
To be honest I’m REALLY glad she has letters.. haha She once wanted to bring in feathers from the birds that are in our yard, photo of her play house out back and leaves and acorns from out bushes. I used a paper plate for her C is Cow Clock craft and she took an extra plate and colored, drew then painted on it and said “this is for show and tell” later hubby and I laughed calling it ‘C for contemporary’.
I do a thing where I sit and ask AJ various questions, what do you want to me, what your favorite color, place, thing to do, etc. You could base stuff off that too.

Re: Show and Tell ideas
I send in a lot of books, especially themed books like halloween and christmas.
DS always wants to take in a new toy to show and share. He has taken in a handful of squinkies, dora dominoes, and other really random things. He asks almost everyday if it is show and share day.
It is rare that we send in something actual show and share worthy. At the same time, I don't know if a bunch of 3 year olds would know the difference. I think some kids bring in the same toy for show and share. DS recognizes certain stuffed animals of others. He once told me his classmate brought in a chick. I thought it was a live chick. Turns out it was a stuffed animal. I've even seen that chick 5x or so....MY DS loves that chick.

Last year, show and share was much more structured. The teacher asked for specific themes and objects starting with certain letters. This year, his new teacher mentions nothing except that it is show and share day.
