Spinoff to how does Dr calculate

My Dr. did not even attempt to calculate from LMP. I have a regular 28 day cycle and always have, although I never did OPKs or temping so I guess I can't say for 100% sure when I ovulated. He wouldn't give me a date until my 8 week sono and then he gave me a date based on baby's measurements. The date is one week later than what it would be if he went by LMP. Since then, baby has measured larger than the due date he gave me but he hasn't changed the due date.

Anyone else's doc do this?

Usually they wont change it unless the baby measures over a week ahead... and after a certain point they can grow and such varying rates.

My coworker went through something similar where the doctor gave her a date 4 days later than what it wouldn't been had he calculated by LMP. By the end of her pregnancy she was SO uncomfortable that she just started saying she "refused to believe" he gave her the right due date. I feel like psychologically I'm going to believe the due date is the earlier LMP based date!!!

My mom still swears that the doctor gave her a wrong EDD with me. She said she knew EXACTLY when she conceived! "If you do the math I was born exactly 9 months from when USA beat Russia in the 1980 Olympics! haha" Anyhow she stuck to her feeling and when I wasn't fully developed on my due date (scheduled C-section) and had to wait 2 more weeks to deliver me, she knew she was right!!!
