How do you collect a stool sample from a 4 week old
How do you do this when all the poop gets absorbed into the diaper??

I had to do this and my ped just asked for the whole diaper.

Anytime they needed a stool sample from DD when she was an infant they just asked for the whole diaper too.

we just had to bring the whole diaper into the dr's office and they did it. But if you have a little vial I would try to see what you could get off the diaper or the butt when you wipe.
I'm guessing your LO isn't like mine who has exploding stools.

Did they give you the little cards? They did this for DD to check for blood in her stool and they just said to smear a little on the qtip them card. There should be anough in a diaper to do this. Otherwise bring the whole diaper. They asked me for a diaper for her first gastro apt.

You're not able to scrape enough off for the vial? The idea of scraping it straight off the baby might work.
I know they make liners for cloth diapers that are supposed to catch the poop so you can toss it. I would look for that as a last resort.
