Emotional about gifts received?

Anyone else get super emotional at their showers?

I'm SUCH an emotional person. I when my job gave me a surpise shower a few weeks ago I started crying. Just now I was updating my regsitry one last time since I knew invites had gone out. I saw some items had been purchased already! I just feel like crying-but in a good way! I know I'm going to be a balling baby at my shower (I hope not though).

It's just amazing to see the generosity of people when you have such an exciting time in your life! I don't want to look anymore because I just want the rest of the gifts to be a surprise

At my shower that my MIL threw with my family, my sister gave me a hand knitted blanket, booties, and sweater that my grandmother, who had passed away in my early 20's, had knitted for my sister's first born. I started crying and couldn't stop. I was so embarrassed because I'm typically not an emotional person but sentimental and hormones were a cocktail that pushed me over the edge. If you know you are already emotional I'd say go with it and just be prepared with a stash of kleenex.
