Wow... How disgusting!!! I'm really sorry this happened to you and your children. Just be thankful you have the info now instead of too late when the behavior could have escalated. I wouldn't even confront the sitter. I would just tell her that you have family that will be watching your children and she is no longer needed... That way when she lists you as a reference, you can make sure she doesn't get hired. No other family deserves that treatment! Shame on her 
Eta: didn't realize she runs a daycare out of her house and has other children... I would def report her in this case.

I read further, and see you called social services, excellent! If she is licensed you should file a complaint with the NYS office of children and family services also

One thing you CAN be thankful for is that your children are old enough to verbalize to you what happened.
I keep thinking this same thing. My worst fear is leaving DD with someone who hurts her but she's too young to tell me. Your kids are HEROS to the rest of the children who she watches who maybe can't ask for help!
What kind of a monster could stomach hurting other people's innocent babies???
And I would not worry about her retaliating. SHE is the one who should be worried about all the angry parents she has to answer to. She should be ashamed.

I would feel so sick as well. I am so sorry this happened to you. It's not your fault! Don't confront this woman yourself, just do everything possible to get law enforcement involved.

I am so so so sorry for you and your kids. Good for you for calling CPS and I would call ALL the parents. Hell who am I kidding I would stand on the sidewalk and tell the parents I couldn't contact right then about what is happening. I would then try, with every ounce of my being, not to destroy that asshat. I am pretty patient and non-violent, but when it comes to my kids, or ANYBODY'S kids I will go off and not think twice. There is a special place in hell for people that do stuff like that. Good for you for keeping your cool that night. Living 2 doors down I don't know if I could have.

I am so sorry you have to deal with this. You did the right thing by getting CPS involved. This person should not watch children and hopefully CPS will shut her down. God only knows what else she does to these poor children she "cares" for.

Ugh! I am so sorry this happened to you and your family. I feel for you and your kids. You have to PLEAASE report her. She is obviously sick. Who hits kids? With a fly swatter? Sitting on hands? Boot camp? She has to have to form of mental illness. That God for your son saying something! Make sure he is rewarded big time for that! What a good boy!

Is there way you can report her and try shutting down her daycare without her knowing it was YOU who did it? Not trying to scare you, but there are so many crazy people out there, you never know what people are capable of when they are angry ...
