Disney- POR vs POFR
So we are 100% booking disney probably tomorrow or Tuesday and decided on one of these resorts.
Which one do you recommend over the other and why?
I am super confused!!

POFQ is much smaller and we prefer it to POR. You can use the amenities at either resort so it makes sense to us (and most of our Moderate Resort clients) to stay in the smaller, easier to navigate resort and go to the larger one if you want to use their pool.
If you want the Royal Guest Rooms or need to sleep 5 (over the age of 3), then you want POR.

I feel the same as Kimberly. Unless you want a Royal Room, you can't beat POFQ. It's small and intimate. I actually think it's romantic. Just very pretty and it has a great pool with an awesome slide.

Ok would this change your mind...we are going in january so have no use for the pool. If we didnt book a royal room is it stupid to stay in POR? DD is 3.5 yrs old.

It's not stupid if that's the resort that appeals to you the most. I prefer the ease of the smaller resort with access to the larger one but really, it comes down to what YOU want to do.
You can still swim in January - we do every year! The pools are warm, just the air is cold so bring sweats, dry off in the bathrooms, change into sweats, and head for the room. Our DD loves to swim so it's a must-do for us.

Because POFQ is smaller and very popular, its discounts sell out faster, and sometimes it has less of a discount than the other Mods. It depends on which discount you're looking at because there are 2 out right now.
Pictures galore

Not stupid at all. it's just preference. They're both great resorts. I personally think FQ is more my taste aesthetically, but everything is also so close together. I was there on a trip when my back was in bad shape, so I really appreciate that. One bus stop, you're never too far from the main building, etc. But POR is also beautiful.

Close
POR = Port Orleans Riverside.
It's the larger of the sister Port Orleans resorts. It's the Former Dixie Landings, for those who might have gone a long time ago. This is the resort that has the Royal Rooms, and the River Roost Lounge, where Yeeha Bob plays. You can use the amenities of both.
POFQ is much smaller and has a Mardi Gras theme. It has a dragon waterslide pool. So so cool.
