IL opinions!!!

I always knew parenting was going to be frustrating living next door to my mother in law but I recently got a taste of the opinions!!! I had my FIL in the front seat of my car and my husband, MIL and Step FIL in the backseat. As we are driving I mention that I put my friends infant car seat in the back seat to see how it fits. I told them that it fits perfect right in the middle which is the safest place for baby. In Unison I get three remarks, "It doesn't go in the middle!" After arguing for about 5 minutes I dropped it and figured hey I'll just print out the research and shut them up!!! Man this is going to be a long road!! I just hit my second trimester!!!

Take it with a grain of salt and do what you and DH feel is best for the baby. Good luck!!

That being said, check with the owners manual for your specific car to see of says anything about car seat placement. I know that mine specifically states that the car seat can NOT go in the center of the backseat. The tethers are not the proper width for the car seat installation and the seat belt is adjustable so it will not keep a seat tight enough.

Yeah I will look in my manual. I googled it and it looks like in the Jeep Liberty it does go in the middle, but I will double check!

Mine can't go in the middle. It depends on the car.

And just give it back to them. I thought it was annoying when I was pregnant but it's way over the top now. Kudos to you for living next door to them. I'd have to move. Lol

HAHA! Is it bad that I was hoping my MIL would move after Sandy wrecked their home...but they are fixing it up!!! DANGIT!!!
