braxton hicks question

I noticed everyone mentioning that their BH only last a few seconds or minutes. Mine last FOREVER. Like, 15 minutes, 1/2 hour or longer. At night I don't count, but they are pretty much on all night long. They hurt like crazy because they push her head into my ribs even harder.
Is this something I need to mention to the doctor?

I would definitely mention it, that sounds like a LONG BH. I never timed mine but I don't think they last that long, they tend to come and go more. I have had bouts where I'm contracting on and off all day, once I called the doctor becuase I was having more than 4 or 5 in an hour. He told me to drink lots and lots of water and to call back if they didn't stop in a few hours (of course they did). Make sure you're getting enough water, although I'm sure you already know that. I would think your doctor might be a bit more concerned since you're carrying twins, so I would be sure to let him/her know.

eta- You are having twins, right? I don't know if I made that part up!

To my knowledge, Braxton Hicks should never last 15 minutes. They usually last 15-30 seconds, but could last up to 2 minutes. They should dissipate if you change what you're doing (walk if you were sitting/lying or lie down if you were walking).

I'd definitely talk to your dr about it b/c it could actually be contractions and not BH.

lol no you didnt make it up!!
i dont think im drinking enough water because it hurts too much to get up to pee every 20 minutes! lol
im going to guzzle some more and see if it stops. thanks!
