C/S 1st time...hoping for a VBAC now
Any advice on what to do, how to be proactive for a VBAC this time around?
I just switched practices to a more 'vbac' friendly office. Just wondering if there is anything else I can do to prepare me.
Also, I struggled really badly with BFing the first time, I want to do whatever it takes so this next time works out. Anything I can do ahead of time to prepare myself?
I'm feeling very overwhelmed all of a sudden and I'm only 3 weeks!

Are with a OB or midwife? I was with a midwife with #2 to VBAC , she was basicly a con and I ended up with a failed VBAC. I looked into the VBAC organization ICAN and got recommended my current OB ( Dr. Byrne in Garden City) who is just amazing and I feel pretty confident I will be successful with him but i guess time will tell but he has excellent reputation as a rare VBAC friendly Ob. As for breastfeeding, the key is to not give in or give up. With #1 I only nursed 4-5 months and #2 , 22 months. My daughter wouldnt even take a pumped bottle so she gave me no choice in how I fed her. I think BFing her right away on the operation table (only good thing my midwife did) was key to her really taking to BFing the way she did.

Re: C/S 1st time...hoping for a VBAC now
I did contact my local ICAN group and they have recommended an office here with one MD and midwives. My friends (independently) recommended the same office so I made an appt with them.
First time around I was late and had to have an emergency c/s. Maybe it really was an emergency but I wasn't even in active labor when they induced me (I was only 4 days late).
I BF for 2 months then pumped for another 4 months. My mindset going into it this time is different, I hope that enough will make the difference.

The only thing I can say is BFeeding is SOOO much easier the 2nd time around!!!! I struggled for 2 months with DS#1 and after those 8 weeks it did become easier but any sane person would'ev given up, I'm so glad I stuck around and persisted because it taught em so mucha dn the 2nd time around I was a total PRO!!!! Don't give up, once you're over the hard period it is amazing! As far as the vbac if you have a good doctor you trust now, lean on them for support!
