I'm pretty sure its genetic. But the cocoa butter can't hurt.

I use baby oil as soon as i get out the shower (while my skin is still wet), then i lather up with Jergens extra moisturizing lotion. Usually before bed i rub my belly with shea butter. 32 weeks and no stretch marks yet, hope they stay away!

You can try anything but if you really can't avoid them if you are genetically predisposed to it.

Moisturizers to avoid stretch marks

I have been using Mama Mio Tummy Rub my entire pregnancy. It's expensive, but so far no stretch marks at 32 weeks.

You can buy it at Buy buy baby with a coupon

I've always moisturizered religiously after every shower. I use st Ives lotion, and every so often add a few drops of bio oil. I'm 36 weeks and so far so good- no marks yet.

My sister swore by Vitamin E oil. She used it throughout her pregnancy and did not get strech marks. I used it sometimes and I didn't get them either. I did not know about the genetic part.

Ive heard they are genetic and that you wont get them till the end or after birth. I just noticed a few on my thighs at 35 weeks. Ive been using bio oil because im so itchy but i havent seen anything on my belly yet.

Thanks everyone. So many good ideas. Do you get bio oil at a drug store?

It's genetic. I went 41 weeks with DD and I never got any stretch marks. And she was over 8lbs.

This, but also they say it is genetic and I believe that but I don't want them to say in 5 years they are wrong and I didn't put the stupid stuff on. So I got a jar of mama mio and I use a little just once a day. I am 1/2 way though and I used 1/2 the jar so far.

Re: Moisturizers to avoid stretch marks

I used bio oil almost my entire pregnany and only had 1 stretch mark. Then..after birth, my belly was covered in them. I totally agree that its genetic.
