I found this article interesting
infertility leaves its mark, like when you move a sofa and there are still dents in the carpet long after the furniture has gone.’

She terminated the pregnancy...???
I couldn't imagine being in an emotional place so bad that I would be able to go through with something like that after all that strife.
How awful this ride can be!

despite disagreeing with her choice to terminate (not that it's my business to agree or disagree or judge), the article was very well written and put words to some very real feelings and experiences that infertile women go through. i applaud her for sharing it publicly. thanks for sharing the article.

Re: I found this article interesting
edited because I a fellow LIF flower told me I didn't read the whole article:
wow. all I thought when she said she terminated the donor egg twin pregnancy was that there are so many loving people who would have adopted those two little bundles if she decided she REALLY didn't want them THAT bad... I have no idea how she was able to go through with that - obviously like my wife above said, it's not our place to judge... but that's just so sad... I imagine it's a decision she didn't make lightly.
I thought the article was interesting, thanks for sharing!

Re: I found this article interesting
this just reinforces the fact that we as "infertile couples" really NEED to focus on the fact that we are blessed to have each other. we need to be able to talk and communicate and trust in our life partners and take their feelings into consideration as well. it is so easy to get lost in the sea of infertility and feel alone when really, you are not alone. your partner is going through it just as much as you are. hug your hubbys today!

Re: I found this article interesting
My marriage suffered terribly due to infertility. I was depressed, angry and so focused on having a baby that I didn't care about much else. That included my husband and the marriage. Funny though, I would post on here asking other women if they too were dealing with this, if their marriages were suffering. Almost everyone just lamented about their perfect husbands and perfect marriages. Thankfully I found support elsewhere and other women experiencing similar issues. I have always been open and honest about the totality of the damage infertility has done to me and my imperfect marriage. I suspect as more and more women deal with infertility we will see more and more articles like this one and women sharing their stories about some ugly truths of infertility and that a baby isn't always the answer to the problem.
