How do I know when DD is teething?

DD is almost three months old, but I feel like she might be starting to teethe although it seems too early. She is starting to drool, gets cranky and we can't figure out what else is wrong and seems to put her fingers in a certain area of her gums. What signs and things determine teething?

It can be but most likely just starting their oral phase. Teething in the beginning can take forever also

My dd drooled and fingers in the mouth at like 6 weeks old... Thought it was teething. Turns out its just the start of the oral stage. She is 5 1/2 months now and still no sign of any teeth. But everything seems to go right into her mouth. It's just normal at this point. Drooling actually has lessened for her. I think in the beginning they just don't know what to do with the saliva.

its probably not teething. i thought DD was teething around the same time, hands in mouth, drooling..etc. i swore up and down to the PED that she was teething, the Dr was like "i dont think so."

she didnt get her first tooth until she was almost 10m old. the PED was def right!

Could be teething. Dd just got both her bottom teeth at 4mo...so it is very possible. But like everyone else said, very normal at that age, no matter when they get teeth.
