How do you keep the paci in your paci-addicted newborns mouth??
Thank you nicu for this habit!
I know some people use wubanubs but can you use them with newborns? Like lay it on their belly? I'm worried because both girls sleep next to each other in the pnp. I don't want it getting stuck between them. I swaddle her and she loses her paci then loses her sh!t and breaks free from swaddle. Then the paci gets grabbed out of her mouth and her sister gets beat up. It's a vicious cycle.

Ha is what I do. Lol. I pick her up and get her to sleep with it but 10 mins later she is crying because she dropped it. It never bothered me that much but dh went back to work so he's getting woken up now and I feel bad.

Yes, I used wubbanub and still do. It def helps to keep the bink closer to them and eventually they'll learn to put it back in themselves. But in the beginning, yes, you keep putting it back in until the fall asleep lol. Pain in the asss but that thing is a freakin lifesaver!

It never bothered me that much but dh went back to work so he's getting woken up now and I feel bad. this is one of the reasons I told the nurses not to give my DS a paci and don't use it with him . I take it with me when I go out and stick it in his mouth if he starts screaming and I can't feed him right there, but it stays for 1 sec and he spits it out. I went through hell with my DD when it came to a paci, first it was getting her used to it (she hated it in the beginning) I had to force her to take it bc she never slept and it was the only way to get her to be quiet & sleep, then it was waking up to find it and put it back in her mouth, then as she got older keeping track of them (I say them bc she had to have 2 at all times, one in her hand) then it was getting her to give it up, I remember desperately posting here for advice on how to get her to give up a paci, lol. So this time around I said I am not going through it again, so no paci for DS he is 6weeks.

How do you keep the paci in your paci-addicted newborns mouth??
My DS is one month today and I seriously spent allll night putting the paci back into his mouth and worst of all I have tried buying him different paci's and the ONLY one he likes is the one we came home from the hospital with, I even went out and bought the same Avent Soothie paci's at target in blue in case something happens to the other one and he screams in terror everytime I put it into his mouth. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do?

This might be a silly idea but I would call the hospital and ask them where they get the pacis or if there is a way to buy one from them (or maybe they can give you one) just explain that your DC won't take anything else.

Re: How do you keep the paci in your paci-addicted newborns mouth??
I have the hospital ones and a pack of pink ones like it before they discontinued it. The gum drop ones are the replacment with the same nipple and same co but have the nose cutout. She still doesn't keep them in. I'll try the nuk though.
I kinda feel like she needs a 12 step program. Lol. I only give it to her at what I think is her witching hour (now). Otherwise, I feed, swaddle and out her to sleep and she will sleep til her next feeding.
