Third iui failed....venting
Just failed my third IUI. I feel so completely defeated. We are dealing with Unexplained Infertility and I am just so frustrated.... Because we are paying out of pocket for everything DH and I are moving on to IVF now.... I have no idea how I am going to pay for it. Credit cards or a personal loan I guess. The whole insurance system really sucks. Two hard working people with full time jobs and yet we are going to get ourselves into debt because neither insurance covers Anything....... Just SUCKS!

I know EXACTLY how you feel, we're in the same predicament with paying out of pocket for everything- it's just so unfair

ugh. i know how you feel we had to pay out of pocket as well. its just so unfair how some insurance covers it and some dont. definitely reach out on here for some meds. as soon as i feel more comfortable with my pregnancy i will be donating mine as well.

Thank you to everyone. I saw dr. SanRoman today and we are moving forward with IVF after a month or so break. I feel like I need some emotional healing time..... So I'm taking it.

I feel your pain. Our entire journey has been OOP. We've had to take a break because DH and I both started new jobs. Mine was a new position within the same company, during training I couldn't take any time off for 8 weeks. DH started a new job in September and won't have any insurance until the new year.
So, since we're unexplained we're doing the whole TI method until Jan 2013. This month we timed it perfectly, but it was a no go...
We'll be most likely jumping to IVF with Dr Zapantis (I've had two failed IUIs with a previous practice) because he seems to think it's my best chance.
You're not alone... we're here when you need to vent.

An acquaintance of my DH and his wife moved to Massachusetts this past summer because of the financial assistance they were able to get with IVF there compared to NY. I know I am blessed to have the insurance I do but one visit for a sencond opinion to an Out of Network RE cost us $350 and the bloodwork he wanted to run was going to cost us almost $2,000 out of pocket.

A friend of mine was dealing with a similar problem. After 3 failed IUIs, she was taking a little bit of a mental break before going over to IVF. In that time she tried acupuncture for a few months and then took a break from that before trying IVF. She happened to get pregnant in her second little mental break and is now 14 weeks!
I know this is a rare situation, but if you do decide to take a break to straighten your finances before IVF, DON'T STOP TRYING! You might be another lucky case!

Thank you to everyone again for the stories and just listening. We are going to continue accupuncture and TI. My insurance actually covers the accupuncture 100% so i am definitely continuing that. Thanks again for listening
