BF moms anyone have an oversupply of breastmilk
So I found out I have an over supply of breastmilk and it makes feed DD hard since the flow was so fast. I started to pump a little to relieve the pressure and then have her feed on one breast. She would feed much longer and we had less cluster feedings.
How do I decrease my milk supply? Today I pumped one breast for 3 minutes and it pumped out 5oz.

Can you pump before you feed her? This will help you build a freezer stash plus it will relieve the engorgement so she can latch on more easily.

Block feedings seemed to help. Nurse the baby with the same boob several times in a row, then switch.

Yes I pump for about a min just to relieve the pressure and so the milk does not flow so quickly. I've been building a freezer stash for her when I go back to work

This plus burp a lot. Be careful with pumping since it can increase your supply. I would sometimes hand express milk before I fed ds. It took several months for my supply to regulate.

Block feeding worked for me too. I had to use one side at a time, not 10 min on one and 10 min on the other like they tell you at the hospital. Pumping actually increases the amount of milk you produce - if your body thinks the baby needs it, it'll just keep producing more.
I had an oversupply for the first 6 or 8 weeks and then it regulated out, and I just had as much as she needed.

I had a bit of an oversupply issue in the beginning. Just keep feeding your DD from one side only at each feeding. Your supply should regulate itself.
