Toilet Seat.. LOL
FH just announced he cracked our toilet seat.. It's a cheap one so I'm not surprised.. BUT.. now wondering about buying a new one.
Do I have to find out that "fits" my toilet? Can I just buy any toilet seat?

No. There are two toilet seat versions. One is oval and the other is round. You need to measure front to back and side to side to see which one will fit. Also got to home depot or lowes. I tried getting one at target and they only had one version (not what I needed). After you know if you need oval or round, then you can decide on painted wood, laminate, or plastic. HTH

They are pretty standarized--either round, or elongated.
Then there are different materials, but once you have the right shape, you should be able to get whatever you want.
This link has a comparison of the two types.

We have the same problem, even at home. 2 of our 3 bathrooms have the soft-close seat, so we have to remember not to drop the 3rd bathroom seat...
You really need one of these, though: http://www.solutioncomfortseat.com/solution-comfortseat-epitome.htm It's ONLY $995!
The Epitome features adjustable warm water washing, adjustable pulse & massage modes, adjustable sweeping wash motion, adjustable heated seat, a powerful enema spray, feminine front washing, memorizes up to 4 user settings, automatic and manual nozzle cleaning feature, has a soft-closing seat and lid, a child mode, an air deodorizer, quick-release feature for easy cleaning, advanced energy saving features, and many more features... all simply controlled with a wireless remote control!
