The house we are purchasing has a gas stove, if it's just for cooking, how much do you think it will be? Is there anywhere that I can get a guesstimate? I am going to ask if I can get past bills from the previous owners, to see if that helps, it is probably going to be way off because it was an older woman, and we have 4 people in our family

I personally don't have that situation (we have gas heat, but elecrtic cooking, as per the former owner's preference... can't wait to renovate my kitchen someday! Chat Icon ).

But from selling properties, I know that cooking gas alone is usually a minimal expense, compared to other utilities. On average, I've heard something like $25/30 a month.

We have gas stove and oil heat. We have only been in the house a few months but every gas bill thus far has been under $15.00. HTH.

We had gas stove and drier/ oil heat when we first moved in. We converted about 2 years ago to all gas. When we were the combo, our gas bill was under $30/month.

Thanks!! That's what I was guessing. I am not sure if the dryer is gas or not, how can I check out? Is it as simple as seeing if it's plugged in or not?

I can't remember because having been in this house for 5 years, we've gotten 2 or 3 deliveries. I cook a lot but the stove/oven alone don't use much.
