Anyones pets getting more protective?? My cat and especially my dog follows me EVERYWHERE. He is constantly sitting near me or has his head on my belly and sniffs my croch all the time When my dad comes over he barks at him, I dont know why, he knows my dad very well.

Re: Pets.........
my dog is following me EVERYWHERE i go as well. whenever i leave a room he is right behind me. i think it is amazing how they can tell that something is going on. i just hopes that he adapts to the baby okay - he gets treated like he is my baby so i get a little worried about that. DH and i made a pact that he will still be just as spoiled when the baby is born.

Re: Pets.........
My cat is even more lovable than she already was. She follows me everywhere and puts me to bed at night. Once I fall asleep, she will go off and do her thing, but she has to come to bed and comfort me
My dog, on the other hand, was getting out of control. She didn't like me anymore. I know she sensed something was different. But we started training and she is doing much better

Re: Pets.........
My dog is big dummy too...but the last weeks or so he was very destructive and someone was telling me this might because of the baby. And I noticed for like the last 2 weeks everytime I walk in the room he really wants to rub up against me and be petted and sniff my crotch. But, like I said, he's also a big dummy and I could just be reading into things that aren't there.
The cat is the same except I woke up twice during the night last week to find him sniffing my crotch too.
I'm getting a crotch complex

Re: Pets.........
My kitty seems to be more attentive to me - follows me around, sits next to with some part of her touching me....but she totally stopped sleeping with us since we moved into the new house. Not sure if its the new house or the pregnancy, but I miss her sleeping with me

Re: Pets.........
My cat is like my shadow now! She sits with me on the sofa and puts her little head on my belly all the time It is the cutest thing.
She never really slept with us .. but DH gets up in the morning before me, and when he does she'll come and cuddle with me until I get up ..
She was NEVER this affectionate before so it has to be the pregnancy..

I don't know when you moved or what temp your house is, but I will say that in the winter, my cat slept will me everynight. When it got hotter, he didn't want to anymore. But on colder nights, he does come back to me. So I'm hoping he'll start sleeping with me again in the fall.

We just moved in this summer. I'm hoping your right. Maybe it's just not cool enough for her (we do have central air though.) My DH thinks that in the old house she could see the front door and down stairs from the foot of our bed (split ranch), but in this house our room is in the back and she can't see anything. So she staying in a central room.

I think my female cat has been more affectionate. The male is already a big mush so I can't judge.

Re: Pets.........
I think my dog senses something is different. I'm more worried about how he is going to act once we bring the baby home. We will continue to spoil him of course , but it's probably going to take some work to get him adjusted to the new member of our family (Although I'm hoping for a VERY smooth transition!).
