So I went to my gp's office (my OBGYN doesn't do the bloodwork in her office and my mom works for my gp) for the beta hcg test on Tuesday and Thursday around the same time both days.

Tuesday the number was 144
Thursday the number was 283

Is this good? I'm going away tomorrow until next Saturday and just want to make sure that everything seems right before we leave.

the increase seems fine. it should double or close to it every 48 hours. so as long as the test was ~48 hours apart it looks like it nearly doubled so it seems OK.

just make sure to schedule an appointment for another Beta when you get back and for another appointment with your RE/OBGYN to make sure everything keeps progressing nicely once your back.

The same thing happened to me! Back in June, DH and I had planned a cruise to coincide with our 1 year wedding anniversary. Our cruise left on Sunday and we found out the Monday before I was pregnant. I went for beta testing all that week and the numbers progressed nicely. I was, however, a nervous wreck during that whole vacation worrying that i would do something wrong so early on in our pregnancy. I wish i had been able to relax more...so hopefully you'll be able to!

Here's hoping it all stays well and I can enjoy this vacation! This is just so nerve racking that I can't be seen until week 8! I'm just thinking that if the beta is good then this is going to stick. Positive thinking is the only way to survive this I think...
