Ultrasound at first appt?
So my first appt isn't until Nov. 16th. My question is, do they always do an ultrasound for the first appt? Should I call and tell them I want one? I'll be 8 weeks when I have the appt. If anyone goes to Women 4 Women in Lake Success that would help but if not any insight would be appreciated.

Ultrasound at first appt?
I think it is common to do one at the first appt at 8 weeks...i had mine at 7. FYI, it was an internal ultrasound

I did not get one at my first appointment at 7 weeks, they don't do ultrasounds in office. An appointment was made for me for the following week at the hospital for an ultrasound to date the pregnancy (8 weeks)

Thanks girls! The internal doesn't bother me...I've had them before. I think it might bother DH more LOL!

I had one at my first appointment. Like PP said they are not done in office so I went for the U/S first and then my appointment.

i cant imagine you wouldnt get a sono at an 8w first appt.

I had my first appt at 8 weeks and they didn't do a sono. They did a pap, and a regular checkup, then scheduled me the following week for a sono. I was 9 weeks exactly for my first sono.
Just give them a call and ask. If you're not scheduled for a sono at that time, at least you still have plenty of time to fit it in.
ETA: It was an internal at 9w.

They don't do ultrasounds at the first apt at my OB's office, but it's also usually before 8 weeks. I think my first apt was like 6 weeks and I came back at 8 weeks for the sono. I'd call and ask if they will be doing one so you're not disappointed if they don't. I know nothing about the practice you mentioned.
