Tooths..should they be brushed?

Does anyone brush their baby's little tiny peggies??? I went to Boots yesterday and bought a baby toothbrush and some baby toothpaste with pride thinking that my little angel would open his mouth and let me brush all 5 of his leetle half teeths...and NO SUCH LUCK. He clamped down and tried to leave home and run away to Coventry...

Any tips? Do I need tomato sauce flavoured toothpaste????

I've read in a few places that you should take a wet cloth or gauze and just wipe the teeth at this point. That will supposedly get him used to taking care of the little peggers in his mouth so you.he can brush them later on.

I had better luck with those rubber things that go over your finger tip. BUt even then it was hit or miss. Good luck!

Just keep trying..... i know Sofia didn't want no part of teeth/gum brushing so it's a matter of them getting used to it.

Let them watch you brush your teeth. They love to copy. Also Rafi has a great song "Brush Your Teeth". My kids love this song.

I use one of the rubber finger thingies and Gerber makes a banana-flavored paste. Christopher actually loves having his teeth brushed, but I've been doing it since before he even had teeth (I heard it was good to clean the gums)

I use the Baby Orajel tooth and gum cleanser and she doesn't seem to mind nor does she like it.

And apparently we are to take them to a dentist within 6 months of the 1st tooth!!!
