Spinoff of Balanced Billing (Lipa/Oil)

With or without balanced billing, how much is your yearly Lipa and Oil bill?

With balanced billing:

Lipa-$1,400/year
Oil-$2,400/year

Thanks.

I was just surprised that no one answered after that other thread. I would have thought everyone knew how much they were paying per year to know if balanced billing would work for them.

Oil 3154.00 for 2011. It was cold that year

2012 (so far) we spent less, even though oil was 1.00 a gallon more. Winter was warm

For lipa we spent 2,305 from 9/2011-9/2012

We don't do balanced billing

I didnt answer at first because it is a somewhat broad question. obviously oil and electric (and gas for those who have it) are influenced by many personal factors. House size, family size, temperature of home during the day/night, work status (a FT working family has a different useage amount then a family that has a SAHM)

Balanced billing can work for anyone who wants it. As I stated in the other thread I am a SAHM so for DH an I to have balanced billing it helps us budget our money better. We would rather that then have a $400-$600+ oil bill when we get a delivery in the winter or a $200+ LIPA bill when we are using AC in the summer. To know that we are going to pay X amount every month is better for our situation. The amount you pay for you budget is based on your personal useage, so again, it can work for anyone who may want it.

This past winter was so mild that we wound up being very ahead on our oil. I paid attention to the bills and when our balance was $0 i stopped paying. we were able to bank 3 months of our budget money. When the summer came I knew we were going to spend more in electric so I paid a bit more then my budget for LIPA required just so we wouldn't owe when we were up for adjustment.

Spinoff of Balanced Billing (Lipa/Oil)

I just checked my LIPA account. Since 10/21/11, we have been charged $1344.16. We've been on Balanced billing since June and as of our last bill, we owe an additional $107 so far. We have Central Air and a pool.
