Contemporary Women's Care now delivering at Southside

I just found out today, at 28 weeks, that my doctor's office is moving from Smithtown to Islandia and will be delivering at Southside Hospital instead of St. Catherine's.

This will be happening probably sometime in December, so they are not even sure where to schedule my C-section.

I am so upset! I don't really like St. Catherine's, but I live nowhere near Bayshore and my pediatrician doesn't have rights at Southside. DH is furious that they waited so long to tell us.

Not sure what to do.

Does anyone have any feedback on Southside?

Is this for real!!! This is my OBGYN, I was just there Monday and they said nothing to me.

I delivered at Southside and loved it there. Their maternity wing was recently done and is really nice. It even has its own entrance. All the staff was wonderful too. I had a horrible experience at Good Sam with my first and switched doctors so i could go to Southside the secind time around.


It sucks that you are getting this info so late but I think you will like the hospital.

Thanks for the info. Dr. Soveiro told me today at my 28 week appointment. They might have to schedule my C section at both hospitals because they don't know exactly when they are switching.
