I have a REALLY dumb question.
I've never done anything with my hair coloring wise at a salon....I want to get highlights but I'm confused. What's the difference between partial and full head of highlights? How partial is partial?

I have a REALLY dumb question.
partial is just half a head. so its the crown and around your face. whole head is literally your whole head of hair.

Yupp. For a partial, if you put your hair up in a ponytail, you'll notice the fact that underneath isn't highlighted.

So it's basically the top of your hair? I don't want drastic highlights just something that kind of blends so would it look dumb if I went partial?

what the PPs have said...however, sometimes I'll get a partial and I ask her to do the underneath hair line so when you put your hair in a pony, there will be highlights there. She just puts in like 3 foils for the underneath.

If it's not drastic I don't think it'll make a difference. I'd talk to your stylist since they'd know best but I know a ton of people get partial highlights, even for drastic highlights. It's just the underneath part of their hair that's darker. And since everything is ombre and two-toned lately I think it'd be even less noticeable.
