My 3year dd was conceived via IVF-on our 3rd frozen cycle. At the time, we had coverage through my benefits at $10,000 a lifetime. My company no longer covers IVF.
Fast Forward-DH will begin his new job and we are considering his insurance plan, which happens to be the same insurance carrier as the one I used for my IVF. They do offer great infertility benefits including a lifetime benefit for IVF. My question: Will the insurance carrier calculate $dollars from my previous cycles from my company into the new plan. Or does it start from $0 since the insurance plan is through DH's job not mine.
I hope I made sense?! If anyone has the answers, I would greatly appreciate it! I never thought I would have another opportunity to TTC via IVF, so this is huge!

Yes they will. They have records of all procedures that you have done from day 1 of the insurance. I went from UHC to Oxford back to UHC. The original UHC was through DH employer and my current one is under mine and when I visit the site my records still comes up from before and we are talking 8 years.

I disagree...My DH had $10,000K lifetime for our first IVF cycle and we used about $7000...then he switched jobs--- the same insurance carrier but different plan (BCBS)...$10,000max without med coverage/anestesia/higher copay...needless to say our $10K started all over again and we got 2 more IVF cycles out of it (but had to pay OOP for meds/$35 copays and anestesia.
I would call and find out exactly and ask to speak to someone who KNOWS....this is too important for someone to BS and read the plan off a computer screen ...
