How do i calm down???
My 4.5 month old was just on amoxicillian because of an ear infection which she caught from DS..actually both kids had colds and ear infections and were both on the meds. DD caught it from DS
Now my husband found out that he has a strain of MRSA in his nose...(he has no rashes anywhere and zero symptoms, he was being tested for something else and they found this), but i brought kids to get checked out anyway..(waiting for results)..
I am just freaking out, reading crazy stories on the internet about MRSA.
DS number one didn't take his first antibiotics until he was 4 years old..and my little 4 month old DD has already been on them. I'm just becoming paranoid about germs and getting sick..its consuming me. Can someone just tell me to get over it!!!!

Re: How do i calm down???
I know it's super scary when they are so young and new and you feel like you want to shelter them for all the nasty germs out there. But in the long run, germs are everywhere and they are going to get sick at some point. It's a fact of life. And in fact ,the more germs they are exposed to, the better their immune system will be- it will help build their immunity. Yes, MSRA is scary, but at least you got them tested early so God forbid they find it, they can get it treated early. I bet it's a very small chance they will contract it from your DH anyway.
Breathe! It will be ok!

Don't freak out about the MRSA. There's something like 85% of people carry staph on their skin and in their noses. As long as he's not picking his nose and wiping it on your kids they should all be fine
ETA: you may want to get your LO some probiotics to build back her gut flora after the round of antibiotics.

10 percent of healthy people are colonized with mrsa. I think 30 to 40 percent of doctors and nurses who work in the icu.
Of course with an older school age child, your little one will be exposed to more early... But it will even out.
Deep breath and stop googling.
