How much colace per day can/do you take?

If you take colace, how much per day do you take?

I take two capsules at night, but now that my OB wants me to take separate iron pills in addition to my prenatals, I don't think only 2 will do the trick.

i took more than two- i think up to 4?

But with my third, the best thing ever happened- my ob told me i could take Miralax! What a difference- it was the easiest pregnancy for me because I didn't have to deal with that issue!

I was told by my ob/gyn that both colace and miralax are perfectly safe because they stay in your intestines and do not cross into your blood steam and hence to the baby.

I am not pregnant...but when I took colace it did nothing for me.

I switchedto taking the CVS fiber stuff (like benefiber) and it has done WONDERS!

I take 150mg-250mg daily...I think 300mg is the max....check with the OB, maybe he/she will tell you you can take miralax like the PP mentioned!

Thanks everyone. Non-pregnant, I take Miralax when needed, so this colace is kind of a joke.

My OB said I could take colace or metamucil, which even my gastroenterologist says doesn't always agree with women's bodies, which is why I was taking Miralax when needed.

I might have to sneak some miralax if it gets bad!
