Please give me your strictest list of what not to eat as per your dr

After an early M/C last November, I am back with a BFP that has me scared out of my mind.

I am paranoid with everything I do and especially eat. It's too soon for me to go to the OB, but going for a blood test this week.

So can you please tell me ALL the things I should not be eating. I want to be as strict as possible to make sure I don't "do" anything that's a no no.

I have had three miscarriages so I get being scared, totally, but realize in these early weeks if you're going to miscarry, you're going to miscarry. Generally early miscarriages are a chromosomal problem and those pregnancies were never meant to be and there isn't much you can do to prevent it.

Honestly, what you eat or don't eat isn't going to have much of an effect on whether your pregnancy is viable or not. Just try to eat generally healthy, take your prenatals, and do your best to keep your mind off of everything...........assume it will all work out and stay positive. It's all out of your hands, it's just a waiting game from here on out. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

ita..this is our 4th pregnancy as well and every time we got a positive i say to myself i am going to enjoy this,no matter how long it lasts bc if this is the one that lasts i do not want to waste a second of it

worrying is normal, comes with the territory esp after a loss but focusing on a list of stay away do not stay away will not help

esp bc u will get a diff list from everyone

congrats and a happy and very healthy 9 monthsChat Icon

Sorry to crash, but I agree with this completely. I have lost multiple pregnancies at multiple stages and I did nothing to cause those losses. (oh- and for what it's worth- I obsessed like a CRAZY person over the "what to avoid" lists) You just have to take it day to day and tell yourself TODAY I am pregnant... and hope to say that everyday till your due date. I agree with the others. Try to relax and enjoy it. My dr does not give any list. He does not ban anything. he just said everything in moderation. Of course there are the typical things like hot dogs,c old colds, and soft unpasturized cheeses, but the only thing I think they have ever even possibly linked to m/c is too much caffeine and a) I don't think thats been 100% proven and b) you can have about 300mg of caffeine when pregnant.

Do not worry so much about your diet right now. It has little to do with the viability of your pregnancy. Congratulations!!! Chat Icon

yeah you just have to relax and make healthy choices. being excessively stressed and anxious can be equally, if not MORE detrimental to a baby/pregnancy than eating cold cuts once in a while. IMO i would try to spend your time limiting stress as much as possible - and less time worrying about if eating a bite of cheese or meat will cause a loss (which the chances are astronomically low that it would).

just try and relax and enjoy it, I drove myself nuts with ds because I had 2 m/c before it and spent 9 months on egg shells, just go by the basics........no alcohol/drugs/coldcuts unless nuked/sushi/mayo based salads from delis/hot dogs/soft cheese(like Brie)/less than 3 cups caffeine coffee.
