Pet hair vaccuum
I have so much accumulated cat hair on my carpets that my Oreck just won't pick up. What pet hair vacuum do you recommend? TIA

Re: Pet hair vaccuum
Honestly, I recommend investing in a carpet shampooer.
We have one by Kenmore and try to do it at least twice a month.
It helps.
I vacuum heavily at least every other day.
Around the wallboarding on the floors/corners I take a damp rag and do it by hand weekly because that's where a lot of the hair seems to end up.
I have a pug and 2 cats so the hair accumulates quickly.
I can't wait until we reno our living room because I want to rip out the carpets and just have hardwood floors throughout.
I think that will majorly help with the hair issue.

We have a Dyson and it works wonders. I also have light carpets so I vacuum frequently . I always "edge" by the door and along the floor board where the hair would accumulate.

Re: Pet hair vaccuum
This morning on the Today Show they did a segment about all kinds of household items that are highly rated by Consumers Reports. They had a Kenmore vacuum that they said was really good for pet hair. I don't remember the model name, but they said it was only about $150. If you look at the show's website, you can probably find the segment to watch
