Has anyone been to Exuma, Bahamas?
Can you tell me about it? Are there family resorts?
TIA!

Never been but would love to visit the Out Islands someday! Check out tripadvisor. There are 26 hotels according to their site. One is bound to fit your needs. Good luck

Yes, I do see some resorts. I'm under the impression that it's pretty exclusive. Doesnt seem too kid friendly? That's why I was asking if anyone's been.

Re: Has anyone been to Exuma, Bahamas?
I've been to the Exumas many years ago. It was a privately owned cay though. There really isn't much for kids it's more geared toward honeymooners & people wanting to get away from it all. If you're set on going you're probably better off looking into Harbor Island or Eleuthera (sp?) although most of the Out Islands are small hotels & inns. I do think there is a Four Seasons on Exuma if I remember correctly. It's also difficult to get to most islands. You either take a puddle jumper or get there by ferry. It's a long day in travel though especially with kids in tow. As I said it's been many years so things could have changed but probably by not much. I have never seen water & sand so beautiful than the Out Islands!

Jennifer, Exuma is on the exclusive side and transportation is so difficult that Sandals is thinking of selling off their resort there. Even though it's stunning, the island is quiet and transportation not easy so it's hard to get people there.

Thank you for the input! It's actually family members that are considering it for a destination wedding.

Sandals has a great, easy-to-deal-with destination wedding team and they move to Beaches for the actual ceremony and reception if there are kids involved, then the all-adult group can go back to Sandals while the families play at Beaches.
It works well for the right clientele.

My hubby and I were married in Nassau Bahamas at sandals and it was amazing! If kids are attending beaches is the sandals for families. They took care of everything it was stress free, romantic and beautiful.
