Scared

For those of you who are thru or almost thru the 1st trimester how did you stay positive throughout and not get worried about having a MC. I don't know what possessed me to do it but i was reading the TTC after a MC boards, and i freaked myself out. Im such an idiot. Any thoughts.Chat Icon

I am totally in the same boat as you. I am so anxious and so scared. I understand that I can't control what happens other than by doing what all of the doctors recommend but it is so frightening. Each day I worry constantly. I am looking forward to reading the responses to this post!

Scared

It's normal to be a bit nervous but I always told myself there was certain things that were put of my control.

Scared

It's hard but I tried to remind myself that worrying is no good either, so I might as well just not bother. It's early but try to make a special "bonding time" with the baby. I'm sure when I have a belly to talk to I will be less self conscious, now it would look like I am talking to myself. So I started rocking a little while I blow dry my hair. It's a private moment that I feel I am taking with my baby. It has helped me feel closer to the pregnancy and happy in spite of myself at times.

Re: Scared

Is there any particular reason you're scared?

I wouldn't worry...I just had a miscarriage (third time pregnant, first 2 times were great) and I can honestly say there is NOTHING i could have done to prevent it. If something is going to happen, it will happen.

I had the same mentality with my boys. I will admit, there were times i'd be achey or crampy etc...and i'd think "geez hope everything is ok" but you just have to have faith that most likely everything is ok.

Pregnancy can be a scary time. You'll get aches, pains, nausea and yes, sometimes even bleeding which can be normal. You'll either get morning sickness or you won't. And when you DO get it you'll wish you didn't have it...until it goes away and then you will wonder if everything is OK cause you suddenly don't feel sick, lol..

It's a nerve wracking time. BUT with that being said...women have been having babies since the beginning of time. The best thing anyone can do is to put their faith somewhere else...take care of yourself, get rest, and let yourself feel happy and excited. it's not worth the worry.

I know that when I'm blessed to be pregnant again I'll do my best to remember everything I just wrote.

Enjoy your pregnancy, its such an amazing time!! I hope to be right back here soon with y'all! Chat Icon

I agree.

I had bleeding at 7w5d and was in the hospital at 7w6d and it turned out I wasn't having a mc but I had a blood clot in my uterus. I was put on light/pelvic rest until week 15. Now I'm 6 weeks away from having a baby.

I know it's hard not to worry, but try not to make yourself crazy.

I spent very little time worrying about miscarriage. I knew the odds are that everything will be find and I would just remind myself that if I got nervous. As others have mentioned, aside from trying to follow the do's and don'ts as much as you can there is little you can do to prevent this. Try to enjoy your pregnancy, worry is not going to change anything and stress isn't good for anyone. Chat Icon

I am terrified that something will go wrong as well. I've had 2 friends lose their babies too early recently, and that's constantly on my mind.

I know it's out of my control, but it's still on my mind.

Re: Scared

You will never stop worrying but the worry gets less after each milestone. I was worried til nt scan. Then relieved a bit. Worried till level 2. Then relieved a bit. Shortened cervix at 26 weeks and worried a little less at 28 weeks when they were viable. Now my goal is 34 weeks for lung development then 36 weeks for no nicu. I just set shorter goals. Now I'm beginning to worry about when the babies are actually here! But I'm sure that will never go away.

This exactly; i was so nervous (and still am sometimes) this entire pregnancy, especialy after having 2 mc's. I had to constantly remind myself that it is out of my hands and out of my control. Nothing that I was going to do or didnt do would change the outcome.
