Failed my 1 hour
I had dinner at 8pm, and didn't eat anything else until after my test which started at 9am! what the heck!? I was at 161... fingers crossed for the 3 hour... So frustrating!

Re: Failed my 1 hour
Fasting may have actually thrown your body off. The 1-hr is not a fasting glucose test.
Either way, you want to know how your body is handling sugar - and make sure it does so effectively.
Good luck on the 3 hr!

Good luck on the 3 hr!
I was instructed by my doc that I must fast prior to the 1 hr

it depends on the test
if you have GD, you have it. fasting or eating isnt really going to skew the numbers. hope your 3 hour goes better!!

Failed my 1 hour
Thanks for the support... Been pretty bummed about it... better luck next week I guess. I was told not to eat for 10-12 hours prior to the test. Hopefully the 3 hour goes better! Fingers crossed!

This is true exactly. If you don't have GD, no matter what you've eaten before the test, your pancreas should secrete enough insulin to stabilize you and bring your blood sugar down to a healthy level. GD (or regular diabetes) will send this number out of wack.
