Re: For those who have a 2-Story house - feeding a newborn
We just trudged downstairs, made the bottle, and staggered back upstairs to give the bottle. No biggie.

I pumped for my twins, so the bottles were always in the fridge. I got up, changed both babies, brought both babies down stairs, fed both babies in their bouncers, while i pumped and brought them back upstairs to bed.

In the very beginning, we used the ready-to-feed nursettes and kept them bedside. After that, we filled a bottle with room temperature pre-boiled water and had a pre-measured amount of powdered formula to mix.
Very simple!
This is what we did.

we were just down the hallway but we found it easier to prepare everything before bed- and we also found it easier to pour water over powder formula - we would put the measured powder int he bottle and a second contasiner with the amount of water we would need.
when we did it the other way we noticed formula still left in the premeasured container int he morning

How about something like this?
My best friend had something like this exactly for those middle of the night feedings and she loved it. It keeps bottles cold for up to 8 hours and then warms them when you need them.
This is exactly what we used--and it was a life saver!

It hit me last night, will I have to run downstairs in the middle of the night to get a bottle???
Exactly this.
It's not an issue for us.
eta: and I ran. "OMG, my poor baby's hungry! I'm coming monchichi!" Like a mad woman. My DH is like "you're gonna kill yourself falling down the stairs".
Now I just hustle.
