cold cuts in the package?
I was told that yes, cold cuts in the package are totally ok because they're pre-cooked and not cut on the same machines as in the store. That's what my OB told me at least. He said if I want sandwiches to just use the pre-packaged stuff.

Re: cold cuts in the package?
I was told the same thing as the PP by my OB. I just bought oscar meyer deli fresh turkey and it's actually good! I'm a deli cold cut person though so I was pleasantly surprised about how much I enjoyed my sandwhich!

Weird because I was told as long as it's boars head it should be fine. Boars head doesn't use nitrates, which I've been told is worse than anything else.

Besides the nitrates (which aren't good whether you're pg or not) it is typically a concern about listeria contamination.
If the deli you are buying from doesn't properly store their cold cuts (ex. Rewrapping after each use, temperature not correct in coolers) or if the machines aren't cleaned regularly and properly, it could also harbor listetia bacteria.
Going to a reputable deli or supermarket that has a high turnover and does the right thing when it comes to cleaning and storage of cold cuts is said to be better.
