personally, i think they are the most unflattering things ever and make my already huge feet look like they've been stung by a colony of bees.
however, my mom bought me a pair when I was pregnant last fall/winter and I completely understand why people wear them. they saved me on my commutes to and from work and i am a bit sad that I made an agree ment with dh never to wear them when I'm not pregnant (in exchange he is buying me a pari of boots of my choice  ).
I have not tossed them though...will sneak them on if I need to shovel snow or something lol
I don't think they are "out of style." I think they have become a permanent shoe option for people. LIke the whole leggings thing. I thought it was a passing fad but they are going strong and I don't see them going anywhere

I was so anti ugg. WHen they were the height of fashion I NEVER wore them. Then last year I borrowed my SIL's to run an errand and OMG they were so warm and comfy I bought a pair lol So basically I think they are hideous but if I am grocery shopping, running errands etc. I dont care, I am wearing them!

I will keep wearing mine, I call them my winter " flip flops". I will pretty much wear them any place I would have worn a flip flop if it was warm out.
I love this, perfectly said.
However, to answer your question, i'm not really sure that they are in "style" anymore but I still think they are acceptable to wear. If that makes any sense. lol

I have to say, I am anti ugg and will always be. I just can't do that look.
So I don't believe they were ever in style at all

by 'in style' you mean a trend? - No, they are no longer 'in' or 'trendy' or the 'it' thing to be wearing - (I still have no idea where that trend came from b/c they are god awful ugly!)
But they are practical, and comfortable, and warm ........so they have become somewhat of a staple.
I'll continue to commute in mine - because they keep my feet SO warm and they are extremely comfortable to walk/run across town in - I was never wearing them b/c they looked cute !! (Much like my Hunter rainboots .......they're functional, not pretty!)

I bought my first pair last year and I will wear them every single day this winter (as long as it's below 40 degrees, of course).
They are the most comfortable boots EVERRRRR and no amount of trendiness can fight that for me.

I work in the highschool and I believe they are still in style since the girls already started wearing them here. I also wear them not because they are the most attractive thing but because of how comfortbale they are and warm!! I love my Uggs!!

Is there no other boot that is warm and comfy AND half way attractive?
Or is that impossible to find?
Does something have to be butt ass ugly to be comfy?
i.e.- the mumu dress?
Just wondering how come they never took the comfort and warmth of the Ugg and put it in something slightly more attractive than a moon boot?
