feeling so guilty about getting an x ray
So today at work i hit my arm and it hurt a lot. Within 1/2 an hour my arm swelled up, my hand went numb and i couldn't even lift a piece of paper. I was afraid i broke it so i went to the ER. They said it probably wasn't broken but that they couldn't completely rule out a hairline so they wanted to xray. I put the led shield on and the xray tech said no worries because it was just my arm and he wouldnt think twice about it if i was his wife. But it turned out not to be broken so i cant help feeling that i should have just declined when they said it probably wasn't broken. Has anyone else gotten an x ray while pregnant? i just feel so guilty now.

I wouldn't worry if they knew you were pregnant and said it's ok. And it's just your arm too. Don't beat yourself up over it. :)

I had an xray of my toe a few days before I found out I was pregnant. Toe not broken. Baby totally fine. Better safe than sorry. The shields completely protect the baby and it's not like you had a pelvic xray. Don't fret it at all!!! It would've been much worse to ignore it and not get the xray and it be broken than how you handled it. You made the right call.

I had a cat scan which is way more radiation than an xray and they said I should be ok. I mentioned in another thread,you have to weigh the risk of the xray with the benefit of finding out whether your arm's broken! You can't walk around with a broken arm!!! Glad you're ok hope It heals quickly.

I had 4 xrays taken of my lower back days before i realized i was pregnant!! I was sooooo worried and upset about it but everything is going great so far. I honestly wouldnt feel guilty or worried about having your arm x rayed especially if you had the apron on.

When I was pregnant with my first I had an X-ray, a ct scan and was given morphine all because I had pneumonia. I just kept asking if it was safe especially the morphine and I remember it so clear the Dr said " do you want to breath your baby need oxygen more than anything" and when I thought about it he was right.
Sometimes you have do what's best and I'm sure your LO will be fine.
