New TV
Looking into buying a new 60" TV. Does it make sense to get a 3D TV? I've never seen one in person and not sure if we would make much use of the 3D feature. But will "all" TVs be 3D in the near future or is a "regular" flat screen still "OK"?
Thanks

Re: New TV
All the articles I've been reading have been saying that 3D is not as popular as manufacturers were hoping. Maybe when they are able to produce glasses-free TVs (they have prototypes, but nothing on the market yet), it may be more popular, but right now, I think it's more of a fad than a need. Whenever I get a new TV (which may not be for a while), I'll probably get a 3D TV, only because it's a gimmick that I'll use every once in a while, since my Blu-ray player can play 3D movies. Most of the time, though, it will be in 2D mode.

Re: New TV
We bought purchased a 60" back in Feb and decided to skip the 3D being that we don't enjoy viewing movies that way. We just haven't been impressed by them...yet.

Are you happy with the one you bought? What manufacturer/model did you buy?

It's a Sharp from Costco The picture quality is what caught our eye.
There are some negative reviews, but we really haven't encountered any of those problems, nor do we really watch sports...or at least we weren't able to see the visual issues that other sports fans took note of.
I drool over the 80" every time we're there, but we specifically needed a 60" for our entertainment unit.
