Thank you & an update
I posted previously but wanted to repost.
Thank you to everyone that sent donations or offered kind words during this time.
We stayed @ a hotel for 3 weeks after the fire. We have settled into a rental home, which feels like heaven.
It's amazing the things you take for granted. Just being able to give my kids dinner, bath and their own bedroom to sleep in feels amazing. To sit in a backyard again.....great. Getting back to a normal routine.
The donations from people were amazing and really helped us. Toys, clothes, toddler bed, crib, gift cards. I can't thank people enough.
It's a very weird feeling to walk away from your home with just the clothes on our backs. But I'm thankful every day that none of us were home. Because this could be a completely different story. The house has been declared a total loss & needs to be knocked down and rebuilt. It's so weird to even write that about your home.
We are working on turning our rental house into a home. Filling it with all those items you need in a home. Making it a home for the holidays.
If I can offer words of advice :
- get a fire safe box for all your paperwork.
- safe deposit boxes.
- back your videos & pictures to another location. I had them on 2 computers in my house and they are both gone. I'm so sad I lost ever video of my children.
Pictures thank god i backed up.
I had everything wonderfully organized in a plastic file cabinet. My wedding album gone.

So sorry again for what you went through, but I'm happy to hear you are settling into a new place and getting back to a comfortable day-to-day life!
ETA: I know there was a discussion of you possibly setting up an Amazon registry- did that happen?

You & your family have been in my thoughts & prayers. I feel so bad for you that you lost your videos & wedding album amongst other things. Your welcome, I am happy to help. I wish the best for you & your family. Thank you for your advice too.
