No Bloodwork til 12 weeks?
So I saw the doctor today for the first time! I was assuming I would have to go for bloodwork but she told me they don't do that until 12 weeks. I am kinda disappointed cause I wanted to make sure everything was ok, ya know? Gosh I am a nervous wreck!
Is waiting that long normal?

No Bloodwork til 12 weeks?
I went for my first appt at 6 weeks and they did all the bloodwork then and then since I was soo early and coudlnt see much they had me back 2 weeks later at 8 weeks where I got to see a lot more :)
I wont go back until 12 weeks where I will get more bloodwork and Im assuming the NT scan .
I think every doctors office is different :( I know the waiting is soo hard.. I was panicking about not having another one between 8 and 12 !

they do nothing until 12 weeks? even your first prenatal workup? That is odd.

ita. Ive never heard of waiting till 12 weeks for bloods with both of my children (two different practices) I had bloods at 8 weeks.(about 14 vials too )

I had all my bloodwork done at my 6 week appt. Waiting until 12 weeks seems very weird.

I did some googling and some sites list bloodwork being done anywhere from 12-14 weeks. A friend of mine is an OBGYN. I'm going to text him.

I had my first OB appt at 8 weeks 2 days; and they sent me for bloodwork that weekend (I had turned 9 weeks by then). It seems odd they wouldn't do any initial bloodwork until 12 weeks. I had about 8 viles of blood taken that first time.

My first appointment was at 8 weeks and they drew plenty of blood and then more at week 9 and 12.

My 1st pregnancy I had blood done at 6 weeks and then 12 weeks and this time at 7 weeks and again at 12 weeks. and it was like 12 vials worth of blood both times. This doesn't sound right to me that your not having blood work till 12 weeks

Apparently that's their policy in the office. I called my friend who is an OBGYN and he said that's totally fine. I was jus thoping it would be sooner though.
